These bad boys are DIPPED in chocolate. Do I even have to go further?

So I think it’s safe to say that y’all are gonna be seeing a whole lot of chocolate - related recipes on here, but that’s okay, right? I mean, if you have a vendetta against chocolate, then just ignore those recipes - but as for the rest of us, I think that chocolate is always a good idea.

It took me so long to finally purchase a doughnut pan, but after this idea popped into my head I KNEW I couldn't wait any longer - so, last week, I went to my good friend, Home Goods, and got my hands on one. Rushing right home, I went to work and put my test batch into the oven - hoping that they would be somewhat edible. Low and behold, they came out absolutely perfect. They’re healthy, fluffy, cake - like doughnuts that needed no adjusting - I would like a moment to appreciate that.

Moments over. Let’s bake.

Chocolate Doughnuts

INGREDIENTS:

3/4 cup all purpose flour

1/4 cup cacao powder

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/3 cup apple sauce

1/3 cup maple syrup

1/4 cup warm water

1 Tbsp oil

1 1/2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar

1 chocolate bar

INSTRUCTIONS:

Preheat your oven to 350F. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour + cacao + baking soda + baking powder + salt and set aside. In another bowl, mix together the remaining ingredients except for the chocolate bar. Add your wet mixture to your dry and mix until everything if fully incorporated - but don’t over-mix! Fill your six - doughnut pan with the batter, and bake for 15 minutes. While the doughnuts are baking, melt your chocolate bar for the glaze. When you take the doughnuts out of the oven, give them a moment to cool before dipping into the chocolate. I also sprinkled mine with chopped peanuts, but do as you wish! Coconut flakes, chopped nuts, and pretzels would all be good too.
