I don’t know about you, but when I think of donuts I usually don’t think of it as healthy.

Yet here we are.

Fluffy and sweet, baked to perfection, these chocolate peanut butter donuts are sweetened with maple syrup, making for the best treat y’all will make all week. The batter is made with super simple ingredients, and have some salty peanut butter that will knock your socks off. Topped with melted Alter Eco dark chocolate as a glaze and chopped peanuts for garnish, these donuts are too damn good to avoid.

Make em’ for dessert. Or breakfast. It’s your call.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Donuts

INGREDIENTS:

3/4 cup all purpose flour

1/4 cup cacao powder

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/3 cup apple sauce

1/3 cup maple syrup

1/4 cup warm water

1 Tbsp oil

1 Tbsp peanut butter

1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar

1 chocolate bar

INSTRUCTIONS:

Preheat your oven to 350F. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour + cacao + baking soda + baking powder + salt and set aside. In another bowl, mix together the remaining ingredients except for the chocolate bar. Add your wet mixture to your dry and mix until everything if fully incorporated - but don’t over-mix! Fill your six - doughnut pan with the batter, and bake for 15 minutes. While the donuts are baking, melt your chocolate bar for the glaze. When you take the donuts out of the oven, give them a moment to cool before dipping into the chocolate. I also sprinkled mine with chopped peanuts, but do as you wish!

I used Alter Eco dark chocolate, which I melted and allowed to cool for a bit, and then dipped these donuts into.

Super rich and chocolatey, these donuts have a hint of salty peanut butter - the best flavor combo, if you ask me hehe.
